This is the second benefit event Band Together and United Way of the Greater Triangle are bringing to the Triangle this year. Last week, the nonprofit duo announced Black Pumas will be headlining their Mighty Giveback kick-off show on October 2nd at Red Hat Amphitheater. Tickets to that benefit concert are available now.
“Two are mightier than one!” said Thorne Daubenspeck, Executive Director of Band Together. “We’re so thrilled to be able to present two benefit concerts this year with our partner the United Way and give our community more opportunities to give back. Turnpike Troubadours are selling out shows across the country and we’re honored to have them headline the Mighty Giveback main event. Fans can catch a great show, enjoy our traditional VIP block party, and hear stories from amazing Triangle nonprofits. It’s going to be a great night.”
This show will include the VIP festivities that fans have come to expect. Join Band Together’s announcement email list to be the first to hear all the big announcements!
This is the third year that Band Together and United Way are partnering to support Triangle nonprofits working overtime to support our neighbors in need. With increases in housing costs making homes unaffordable for individuals and families experiencing poverty, the Mighty Giveback’s goal is to raise more than $1 million to help ensure that Triangle residents and families have a safe place to live and thrive. 11 Triangle nonprofits will be beneficiaries of these
funds, including: CASA, Community Empowerment Fund, EMPOWERment Inc., Families Together, Habitat for Humanity of Durham, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, Hope Renovations, Housing for New Hope, InterAct, and Passage Home.
“At United Way of the Greater Triangle, we are committed to our mission of eradicating poverty and increasing social mobility through the power of partnerships. Safe and affordable housing is a critical part of that story. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with Band Together for a third year and to bring the Triangle two of the greatest parties of the year – all to support 11 highly impactful organizations,” said Eric Guckian, United Way of the Greater Triangle’s President and CEO.
Please join Band Together and United Way of the Greater Triangle in raising over $1 Million to support housing accessibility in the Triangle. Ticket sales, individual donations, and corporate sponsorships to the Mighty Giveback will directly support the most impactful nonprofits in the Triangle who are at the frontlines of our community’s housing crisis. About Turnpike Troubadours:
The six-piece American Country band is selling out shows across the nation. Founded in 2005 and touting five official albums, Turnpike rocketed from Oklahoma’s Red Dirt scene to the pinnacle of Americana music while taking delight in remaining independent. The band’s impressive musicianship is multifaceted: fun with time signatures via lapses into double or half time; clean, abrupt stops; stealthy fingerpicking; unassailable grooves. The Turnpike Troubadours blend a little Outlaw Country, some Cajun zydeco, a dash of bluegrass, and top it all off with a pinch of rock and roll to create an evening you won’t soon forget.
