On “Runnin” from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s third collaborative project SAVAGE MODE II—in between this and the first was 2017’s Without Warning, which also featured Offset—Savage employs a trick we heard him use to perfection on 2018’s “a lot.” There he used the title phrase to answer a list of questions he posed to illustrate the abundance in his life. With “Runnin,” there are no questions, only declarations of the condition of Savage’s automobiles (they’re running) and how the opps react to his presence (they run).
